We have prepared a place to listen to the teachings of the religious community for national unity and community restoration. It was a meaningful time where various religious denominations including Buddhism, Protestantism, Catholicism, Won Buddhism, Confucianism, and the Korean National Religion Council gathered together to share wisdom and experience.
The gap of division and conflict that exists in our society is not easily filled. Although the atmosphere of reconciliation has been gradually created over the past month, there is still great concern and worry that conflict can intensify again at any time due to political changes.
I believe that the role of religious leaders is most important for our society to develop further in a more mature manner during these times. If you take the lead in conveying messages of solidarity and coexistence, it will be a great help in understanding and respecting each other and moving beyond conflict to harmony.
I asked religious leaders to continue to play an important role in the path of the Republic of Korea moving forward as one. The government will also prioritize national unity and do its best to create a happy society together.
