Hun Sen admits that the audio clip of the conversation with the Thai Prime Minister is a real voice, challenging to play the full clip, with a length of 17 minutes long.

Samdech Hun Sen posted on Facebook, admitting that the audio clip of his phone conversation with the Thai Prime Minister was a real clip, and challenged the release of the full 17-minute clip after some of the audio clips were leaked, and the Thai leader accused the Cambodian leader of being “unprofessional.” Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, stated that on the evening of June 15, he had a phone conversation with the Thai Prime Minister for a total of 17 minutes and 6 seconds, with Mr. Kliang Hoat acting as an interpreter, and recorded the conversation “to avoid misunderstandings or distortions in official matters, and to use as internal information for Cambodia.” He then released the audio recording to about 80 important Cambodian figures, including the party’s permanent committee, the Senate staff, the National Assembly, and the security sector, and admitted that “some people in that group may disagree with the Thai Prime Minister.” The issue heated up when Samdech Hun Sen claimed that just hours after the conversation, the Thai leader publicly accused the Cambodian leader of conducting politics “unprofessionally,” and took action via Facebook. Contrary to what they said, Samdech Hun Sen also stated that the leaked clip was only about 9 minutes long, and not the entire conversation, but challenged the Thai side, saying, “If you want the full audio clip, I am ready to reveal the entire conversation, which is 17 minutes and 6 seconds long, without any editing.”

Prime Minister Phaythongthar Chinwat has announced that he apologizes to Thai people for the leaked clip of the conversation with Hun Sen, the leader of  Cambodia. He expressed his disappointment through the diplomacy. The conversation between the 2 leaders was secretly recorded. He stated that now is not the time to fight because we have to protect the sovereignty of Thailand. Confirm that the government and the army are united and want the people to be united with us.
